Here is some more information on what is available by region: Greater Bangor Area Despite Bangor’s urban feel, the Greater Bangor region is peppered with lakes, rivers and streams  With the mighty Penobscot River making its way directly through Bangor, and the Kenduskeag Stream always a popular with fisherman, there are excellent spots for riverside angling. If lakes are your preference, Brewer Lake, Pushaw Lake and Hermon Pond make for great still water fishing, with bountiful salmon and white perch to be found. There is plenty of action for spin casters as well as for fly casters here in the Moosehead Lake region.
